7 Tips to stay Beautiful and Cool this Summer
It’s May and it’s raining sunshine. With the temperatures rising up fast and high, it becomes a little difficult to go out. The sweat, the heat and the after effects of heat are a big put off. Still there is always some important meeting with a client for which we have to move out of the comforts of our home. A lunch party or that not to be missed shopping trip forces us to move out. Summer outings always take a toll not only on our health but also on the beauty. Here are some ways to help you all beautiful ladies, keep cool, healthy and glowing this summer.
Choose light colored, loose fitted cotton clothes. Time to pack off all the shimmery rayon and synthetic fiber garments. Loose fitting cotton clothes give a lot of breathing space and are skin friendly. Light colors do not absorb sunlight and reflect back most of it. While dark colored garments absorb a high amount of heat, keeping you hot and sweaty.
Buy a nice pair of sunglasses and wear them when you move out in the sun. Sunglasses save the eyes from the harsh glare of the sun keeping the eyes safe.
3. Scarves / Hats
Cotton scarf (dupatta), wrapped around the head, covering most parts of the face makes for a fashion statement. It is also a necessity in the summer season to save your face from a rich tan. Hats can serve the same purpose if they are broad rimmed. An umbrella too gives you ample protection.
4. Sun Screen
Sun screen can be in the form of a lotion or a cream which gives you protection from the harmful ultra violet rays of the sun. An important point to consider while choosing sun screen is its SPF i.e Sun Protection Factor. The SPF is a measure of how well a sunscreen will protect skin from UV rays, the kind of radiation that causes sunburn, damages skin, and can contribute to skin cancer. A good sunscreen irrespective of the brand must carry a SPF 30 or above.
5. Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water to keep the body hydrated during the summer months. Water nurtures the skin, keeping it supple and glowing. Keep drinking water every half hour for that beautiful skin. Lemonade and homemade juices can be taken but avoid the heavy smoothies.
6. Eat Light Meals
Eating light and smaller meals at frequent intervals ensures high energy levels all times. Include lots of seasonal fresh fruits in your meals. Fruits like watermelons and musk melons keep you hydrated and your skin beautiful. Bananas and apples give instant energy to the body.
Comfortable footwear is what it takes to keep the feet safe. Choose a comfortable pair of shoes or sandals which will keep your feet covered and safe from the heat. Remember if it’s comfortable, it’s fashionable.
